Reported by North Alpha Post
Two Hilton-branded hotel projects backed through EB-5 investment by Worldway Group, founded by CAECA Vice Chairman Dr. Winner Xing, have reported creating a combined 382 jobs in western North Carolina, a region devastated by Hurricane Helene.
According to the latest materials provided by the group, the projects in Boone and the Sugar Mountain area have a combined cost of approximately $66.324 million. The Boone hotel is open, while the Sugar Mountain property remains under construction.
The combined employment figure reflects two different reporting dates: the Boone project reported 303 jobs created as of the second quarter of 2026, while the Sugar Mountain project reported 79 as of September 2026. The materials did not further explain the methodology used to calculate job creation, so these figures should not be interpreted as the number of employees currently working at the two hotels.

Boone Hotel Opens and Reports a Profitable First Year
The Boone project operates under Hilton’s Home2 Suites brand and is located at 280 E. King Street. Its total cost is approximately $25.794 million, including $20 million in EB-5 investment from 25 investors.
According to Worldway Group, the hotel opened in January 2025 and achieved profitability in its first year of operation. The project is expected to create 337 jobs, with 303 reported as created as of the second quarter of 2026.
Sugar Mountain Hotel Under Construction, With Completion Expected in Q2 2027
The second project, a Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel in the Sugar Mountain area, is located at 2441 Tynecastle Highway.
The project has a total cost of approximately $40.53 million, including $30.4 million in EB-5 investment from 38 investors. It remains under construction, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2027.
According to figures provided by the group, the Sugar Mountain project is expected to create 538 jobs, with 79 reported as created as of September 2026. Together, the two projects are expected to create 875 jobs. Further construction and operating updates will be needed to track progress toward that total.
